Claim to be bank fraud department. I answered no to the charge. Asked me to call immediately which i did. Kept asking for my area code and phone number over and over. I immediately called my Fraud department and they wouldn't answer. Now I'm sick wondering what they are doing with my information

I received a text stating my card, giving the lady four digits, had received a charge of $450.06 for EMIRATESUSD and asked if I had made the charge. Text yes or no. I texted no and got the message to call them described by others. I, of course, called my bank instead. The charge had been attempted. We shut the card off. This happened three months ago on a Saturday with the card on my other account at nearly exactly the same time (1 minute apart), texting from the same number. When I talked to the person at my bank they asked if it was an 833 number and told me the fraud dept uses an 833 number and it was legit. I told him it was being tagged here as a phishing scam. He then asked for the full number and confirmed it wasn’t one the bank uses.

From EFFWORKEMAIL.COM, I responded NO to the text and then received another text saying that my card had been blocked and telling me to call immediately. Like everyone else has said here, this is a SCAM designed to steal money and your personal info. They also claimed I had $49.95 in unpaid fees charged to my card and to "REPLY YES OR NO" if I wanted to speak to someone. Complete BS! They target everyone. They knew my Credit Union and wanted me to reply Yes or No if I used debit card ending in XXXX (they knew this too) for a GANNETT MEDIA Co. charge (which I had previously signed-up for, but eventually cancelled). My biggest clue was the text arriving around the same time as a spam call and the message not being bunched together with the other messages from my Credit Union.
