This happened 2 minutes ago. I get a call from this number and I pick up, since it's a Luxembourgish phone number. The caller presents himself as Enzo and he wants to tell me about this company (I cannot tell what type of company it was, there was a lot of echo during the call, so I was unable to understand portions of it). I asked him where he got my number from, no straight answer. I tell him I am busy, he wants to reschedule the call. I tell him I want the website for his company so I can research it, he tells me the reason he is calling is to present it to me. By this moment, the alarm bells are ringing. He is very insistent on telling me about his company and won't take no for an answer, so I kindly thank him for his call, ask him to refrain of ever calling again and I hung up on him. The whole interaction lasted under two minutes. Definitely untrustworthy, probably a scam. The accent did sound Italian, however that may also be because he told me his name was Enzo, so that may have framed my perception of his accent.

A person on the phone with a foreign (kind of Indian) accent purported to be a broker and was trying to convince me to make an investment (on the day that Rivian, an electric car company goes public). I could see where it would be easy to fall for this scam because it took me more than 10 minutes on the phone to realise it was a scam, after the guy on the phone wouldn't take 'no' for an answer after telling him 10 times that I was not interested. He kept telling me to google their totally legitimate website and saying that he was calling from London, but it definitely sounded like one of those scam call centres that are often located in Dheli or Calcutta. Beware of investment scams. No serious broker would call up a stranger out of the blue and continue to push after you've said you are not interested!
