caller stated I was being sue and owed $5000 from a past creditor, we could either settle out of court or go to court and pay more fees and court cost. I contacted the original creditor whom they said it was and they had no record of turning anything into a collection agency and I did not have an outstanding balance.

Got a call from this number yesterday. Man identified himself as Diego from a law office in L.A. (caller ID on my phone listed the number as "unavailable")-- first clue !! He claimed that he was a lawyer attempting to "process serve" me with urgent legal documents. Out of curiosity I called back. I was immediately threatened with legal action up to and including criminal financial fraud. He was very overbearing, rude and extremely disrespectful. I asked him to mail me information about this matter but he refused saying he had already mailed notification back in February (to an address I haven't lived at for 12 years)- 2nd clue !! He asked me if I've ever been sued before. I told him that I wouldn't be inclined to answer such a ludicrous question and I asked him why he needed to know. He said he was checking my honesty and stated that he had court records that I had been sued 22 times before. I asked why, if he already had the information, would he need to ask me. He said he was considering sending me written info about this account but since I was dishonest about answering his question he would be unable to notify me any further about this matter and I should expect imminent legal action. At the end he told me that he would make sure that I would never be able to defraud anybody again. Last clue was when he abruptly hung up --

They left aggressive message stating they needed to serve me with legal papers and wanted to confirm my information. If I didn’t call them back they threatened about putting restrictions on my license! Makes no sense when called back they asked for TOO much information... which makes no sense, if you called to confirm in the first place wouldn’t they have information to begin with? Pay no attention it’s a scam scaring people into providing their info!
