Contacted me saying that I owed a debt from 2011. Statute of limitations in my state is 6 years. When I informed them of this and asked them to stop harassing me, they replied, "So you are running away with the money you owed them." Generally a debt collector buys the debt and they would have said, 'So you are running away with the money you owe us.", not "them". If they are in Russia, that explains why they are persistent but passive.

Saying they were American Appliance and we owed $1800. We never ordered anything from American Appliance. They were asking us to verify the last 4 digits of our Social security # - They became very combative
