Allegedly representing ATT-DirecTv- - Promo scam. Very heavy "Indian(as in NewDelhi) accents. Wanted Credit Card # --ostensibly so they could get it on their"recorded line". I told them to refer to what is in the ATT system and would not repeat it over the phone.They got very persistent. I finally hung up. They somehow got my DirecTV programming suspended on a "Vacation Hold". Worked with actual ATT rep. Case was escalated internally by DTV as to how this unapproved vacation hold got into their system.

ATT - DirectTV promo call scam. Name: Michael Larry - Phone: 805.465.7185 - Ext: 5004. Called from phone number: 616.552.8378. Man voice had a very heavy Indian accent. I was going to request them to read/confirm my acct # to me, instead of me telling it to them. I knew better than that. But it never got to that point, he did know what services I currently had. I should've know better being he didn't know what I was currently paying. He ended up telling me I could lower my internet/landline from $101 to $56.23 and then when asked to remove my landline he weirdly threw out a number, it will be $35 (like he pulled that number out of his bum). He didn't need anytime to quote me to remove my landline, then he kept pushing for the $56.23 plan. Then, I couldn't understand what the heck he was saying but I did catch "a one time fee of $99". I said, "Wait did you just say I have to pay $99 in order to receive a discount for my ATT bill"? I also said, "this seems weird, why would ATT call me to lower my bill...I have never received a phone call like this". He kept being persistent about signing me up to lower my phone bill. So I just said, "okay I have my price quotes I need to talk it over with my husband. I will call you back". Then, I hung up and immediately called ATT. Let them know this happened and had them actually help me to lower my bill.
